RIPESS Eu Scientific Committee – International webinar on Solidarity economy 2021-2022 : The series of podcast

Launched in January 2021

RIPESS Europe Scientific Committee has launched an International webinar on solidarity economy on the different continents, in partnership with FMSH Paris (Maison des Sciences de l’Homme de Paris / “Human Science House of Paris”) and the Center for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (CES-UC). In this difficult period, it seems particularly important to strengthen the relations among the initiatives and the people active in solidarity economy as a global movement. This webinar is an opportunity to build a dedicated space to nurture this international conversation, dedicated to sharing common questions and mutual information, analysis and perspectives about the development of Solidarity Economy on the different continents. It is addressed to everyone interested in those topics : actors and collective initiatives, researchers and students, public institutions representatives.

This page gives access to the podcast of the interventions, and the presentation attached. The main language of the intervention is English.

Opening Session – the International Manifesto for the Solidarity Economy

This seminar on the International manifesto for solidarity economy lays the foundations for this new series of dialogues proposed by RIPESS Europe, in partnership with FMSH Paris (Maison des Sciences de l’Homme de Paris / “Human Science House of Paris”) and the Center for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (CES-UC).

The seminar welcomed the presence of scholars from different countries : Ruth Muñoz (Argentina), Swati Banerjee (India), Sadik Youssef (Marocco), Linda Andersen (Denmark), Noriko Hataya (Japan), talking about Solidarity Economy and the Manifesto in their countries.

Jean-Louis Laville, Luciane Lucas dos Santos and Genauto França Filho debated the key concepts within the Manifesto (due to technical difficulties, the recordings of their intervention is not fully available). It was coordinated by RIPESS Eu scientific committee coordinator Laura Aufrere (France).

Last but not least, some connections between the Manifesto and the RIPESS Workshop Series on Solidarity Economy and Feminism were addressed.
